Amy Simons is an artist and art facilitator based in Cape Town, South Africa. She has been working as a creative arts educator since 2012 and has collaborated with a variety of organisations and educational institutions. She has committed her working life to creating accessible and collaborative creative art spaces. In 2015 she completed her BA Social Science at UCT as well as her intensive ASTAR art facilitator training course.

She taught art part time at South Peninsula High School and in collaboration with Indoni Dance Academy and The Astar Project in a youth development interdisciplinary art programme, incorporating dance, art, storytelling and performance.

Amy designs and facilitates context specific self-development and organisational development art processes. She believes that every person is an artist and that creativity is fundamental to our growth, connection, healing and self-expression. She is committed to holding a creative space for people to delve underneath, to explore, to play, to express without words, find release and to carve out time to connect with themselves and each other.

Amy is also completing her Masters in Expressive Creative Arts Therapy in Switzerland on a part-time basis.
